Over 150 houses have been damaged in heavy rain and hailstorm in Maharashtra’s Thane district, however no lack of life was reported, an official stated on Monday. Quite a few electrical poles additionally collapsed following the hailstorm and heavy showers that lashed a number of villages in Murbad taluka of the district on Sunday, he stated.
“More than 150 houses suffered damages, including five-six houses which were completely damaged. The roofs of several houses were ripped off due to the heavy rains,” Murbad tehsilar (income officer) Amol Kadam stated.
There was no report of any casualty, he stated.
Authorities have been conducting an evaluation of the losses, he stated.
Most of the affected villages, together with Alyachiwadi, Merdi, Mogalwadi, Kelewadi, Valhivare, Dharkhird and Bandesheth, are positioned near the Malshej Ghat.
